AC1 Sentinel (2 pdr)

Australia commenced designing the AC 1 Sentinel in November 1940, despite a lack of local tank design experience. At this time Australia considered it unlikely it could obtain current tanks from either the UK or US. The UK provided an experienced designer in December 1940, with the proposed tank based on the lower hull, engine and running gear of the US Medium Tank. Initial production of 65 vehicles was completed by June 1943, with none issued to operational armoured units. All models and figures come unpainted and may require assembly. As hand-finished items, minor work may be required prior to painting. Any MDF bases come bare, and require painting and landscaping. Glue, paint and landscaping materials are not included with the model.
