Zrinyi Assault Gun

The Zrinyi II was a successful Hungarian assault gun based on the Turan II chassis. It was armed with the 40/43M 105mm MAVAG L/14 or L/20.5 howitzer, and had up to 75mm of armour.
After the demonstrated success of assault guns on the Eastern Front, Hungary looked to start production of a similar type vehicle as quickly as possible. The Manfred Weiss Works developed the Zrinyi I and Zrinyi II on a wider and taller hull of the Turan tank. The additional height was required to provide additional space for the larger gun.
