Fokker Dr.I
$13.00
The Fokker Dr.I (“Dreidecker”, triplane in German) saw service in the spring of 1918. It was manouvrable and armed with a pair of Spandau machine guns.
The Dr.I was the Fokker company's response to the appearance of the Sopwith Triplane on the Western Front. It's most famous pilot (Manfred von Richtofen) gained his last 17 victories in this aircraft, and it's also the aircraft he was shot down in. Despite it's performance, the aircraft suffered from structural issues, and as a result it never achieved large-scale orders.
