The Siemens-Schuckert D.IV had a top speed of 190 kph (120 mph), and was armed with two 7.92 mm LMG 08/15 machine guns. The company built a total of 80 machines in three lots.
A notable feature of the plane was it's port wing being 60mm (approximately 2.9 inches) longer than the starboard wing to counter the large four-bladed propellor's P-factyor. The D.IV was found to be faster and more manouvrable than the Fokker D.VII above 4,000 m, with a ceiling more than 1,100m higher than the Fokker.
