Fokker E.V (D.VIII)
$13.00
The Fokker E.V was a parasol-monoplane aircraft armed with a pair of Spandau machine guns.
The E.V was Fokker's last aircraft to become operational in WW1. Despite the production varient being forced to use obsolete Oberursek Ur.II engines, the aircraft achieved a top speed of 204 kmh. As with other Fokker designs, this aircraft also suffered from wing failures, most likely due to shoddy and rushed construction. Following personnel changes and improvements to QC procedures at the Perzina factory (a subcontractor to Fokker), Idfleig permitted constructiion to recommence. Deliveries recommenced, with the modified aircraft designated as Fokker D.VIIIs.
