The Aichi D3A served as the Imperial Japanese Navy’s primary dive bomber. It was lightly armed with two forward-firing 7.7mm machineguns, and a flexible-mounted 7.7mm machinegun in the rear cockpit. Standard bomb load was a single 250kg bomb carried under the fuselage. Set of three aircraft.
The D3A first saw combat as a land-based dive bomber in November 1939, prior to its official acceptance by the IJN. During these operations the aircraft supported the Army in the capture of Nanning, China. All models and figures come unpainted and may require assembly. As hand-finished items, minor work may be required prior to painting. Glue, paint and landscaping materials are not included with the model.
