The Pfalz D.XII had a top speed of 170kph (110 mph) and was armed with two 7.92 mm LMG 08/15 machine guns.
The D.XII resulted from Idfleig distributing an engineering report on the SPAD S.VII, noting particularly the wing structure. As a contemporary of the Fokker D.VII, pilots found the Pfalz D.XII to be heavier and less manouverable than the Fokker, their preferred aircraft.
