Sherman Tulip Rocket Launcher

Sherman gun tank of the Coldstream Guards fitted with two 3 inch air to ground rockets. Range was fixed, with each rocket being launched at a different angle.
This idea was based on an original idea by Canadians from the 12th Manitoba Dragoons to fit rockets to their Staghound armoured cars to increase their firepower. This did not proceed beyond the initial trials. Two officers from the 1st Armoured Battalion Coldstream Guards of the first fitted the rockets to their tanks. Following a successful demonstration, the entire squadron fitted Tulip to their tanks. Tulip was first used in action on 1 April 1945, and its use continued until war's end.
