Churchill III-IV AVRE (SBG)

The failure of the Dieppe Raid highlighted the need to protect engineers during the assault phase of operations. Following trials, the Churchill’s side door was identified as critical for protecting engineers during assault operations. The addition of a spigot mortar lead to the Assault Vehicle Royal Engineers (AVRE). This tank in its multiple iterations formed part of Hobart’s 79th Armoured Division (his “Funnies”).
All models and figures come unpainted and may require assembly. As hand-finished items, minor work may be required prior to painting. Glue, paint and landscaping materials are not included with the model.
